Parallax Reveal Responsive Website for Hermes Jobs
We’re obsessed with responsive design right now so we were thrilled to be able to flex our development muscles working on our latest client’s website.
One of our longstanding clients, iSource Group, needed a jobs microsite for home delivery giant Hermes. They needed delivery in double quick time but also a solution that engaged users on all types of devices.
We created a website in our own in-house content management system, Expose CMS, which allows the iSource Group to easily add, remove and update job vacancies in just a few clicks. We then made the site responsive so that users on any device can view the website and get the best view possible for their device.
One of our developers, Danny Le Page, worked on the project and tells us why making this website responsive was a must: ‘Jobs can come and go so quickly that you’ve got to be quick to pounce on an application. That’s why Hermes Jobs was optimised for mobile devices: so that people looking for a new job can browse efficiently and act quickly no matter where they are or what device they are using.
‘Responsive web design is all about remodelling the layout for different screen (viewport) sizes. The process most often involves serving up elements in a flexible and adaptable way so that the elements can accommodate the viewport and be optimised for the user. There are plenty of resources out there to read up and practice responsive design, it’s the way forward for sure as mobile use is increasing all the time. This was a great project for me in the planning and actual development. The client is really happy with the website and so are we!’
