Parallax Launches Leeds Business Week Website
This year, Parallax were proud to work with Leeds Business Week for the first time.
Leeds Business Week is an annual event bringing together key stakeholders from many of the city’s businesses including city leadership, SMEs, and the public sector. This year’s event saw over 130 gatherings held at venues across the city, with topics ranging from how to drive business growth to networking drinks evenings at Chaophraya. Events were spread right across the city, from Morley Town Hall to Chapel Allerton Library and everywhere in between.
As well as working with partners such as Sky, KPMG and PWC amongst others, Leeds Business Week also attracted some prestigious sponsors including Barclays, Salesforce and Leeds City Council.
As a digital agency in Leeds, Parallax were given the opportunity to design and develop a website that would complement the occasion, raise awareness, and provide a platform for visitors to register for events. Core features included unique calls to action on the homepage to register, in-depth calendar for each event with one click sign-up options, sponsor section, and an area for press and promotional material.
Geoff Shepherd from Leeds Business Week said: “We approached Parallax after establishing a great relationship with them when they developed the Yorkshire Mafia website. We required a state of the art website that would allow potential delegates to be able to book events with ease. Not only that, we needed it to look professional and give all visitors a fantastic experience.”
From previous events, we had an understanding that there would be a high percentage of LinkedIn users attending. By implementing a LinkedIn sign-up option, users were able to register for an account for the Leeds Business Week allowing them to register for events simply by entering their LinkedIn account login. Each registration automatically posted to LinkedIn, helping to promote the event through social media, informing their networks about their attendance. After registering for their desired events, users were then able to see a personalised table which could be downloaded and printed to be taken with them.
With 3531 event bookings, 2554 registered users on the site and over 1600 shares on LinkedIn, Leeds Business Week was a resounding success.
Geoff said:
Using a booking system that integrated with LinkedIn was a fantastic idea. As a large percentage of our attendees use LinkedIn, it was great to see such a high volume of shares. We’re already putting ideas together on how to build on this success.
